***The Holding Company is a 21+ music venue in the downstairs. If you have underage band members please let us know in advance otherwise you risk security not letting your bandmates in. Underage performers are only allowed with advance permission and are only allowed inside during their performance.
BACKLINE: We have a great backline which is well-maintained. We prefer that drummers use our kit and bring breakables. Also we encourage bassists to use our rig.

***SPECiAL request for drummers to bring their own clutch. We have one, but we have had so many that seem to walk. Its a good idea to bring one, our stand is a yamaha.
***Also a note for double pedal drummers about our hi hat stand having legs that do not swivel.

You must have DJ Pro to use our pioneer mixer and cdjs (full version not the trial version)
if you want to use the serato box we have scratch live SL2 box. you have to have serato scratch live software (full version not the trial) on your laptop.
If you want to use pioneer mixer 900nsx2 with the cdj2000nx2 you must have DJ pro software installed and not a trial version! We also have SL2 scratch box, which DJs must have serato scratch live software as well! You can also use USB sticks as well! If not they can bring their own DJ controllers. Just lmk if any ?’s so we can troubleshoot before you get in there 🙂
***VERY IMPORTANT: PLEASE DO NOT PUT DRINKS ON THE BOOTH OR AROUND OUR EQUIPMENT. ASK THE SOUNDMAN FOR A BEVERAGE TABLE IF YOU DON’T SEE ONE SET UP FOR YOU. You will be responsible if our decks get spilled on and need to be serviced.

minimum ideal resolution — 1280x720p and up
please save all background logos as png and set resolution to the highest fomat. can do jpg but png is better.
We will do our best to have your logo projected on stage but we reserve the right to rotate other images on stage as needed and to run the video wall however we see fit.
Only mp4, and .mov, jpg, png files can be used on resolume.
We can do mp4, mov, jpg, png and that’s it…any other files you have to convert to this. Bring a flash drive and or hard drive for large files or air drop it (we have Imac)…
if your image files are not jpg or png there will be a $20 charge to convert them.
Backdrop images for the LED screen can be airdropped, emailed, texted or handed over on a thumb drive. One of our production team will get that sorted for you before doors or before your set. **PLEASE MAKE SURE THE TITLES OF YOUR FILES INCLUDE YOUR BANDS NAME.***
VIDEO DROPS and VIDEO CONTENT FOR SOCIAL:
if you want to make a video that we post on social or a video drop announcement for the show – WE WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE THIS. Can be a simple iphone video with you saying “hi we’re excited for our show on ____ at The Holding Company in Ocean Beach” – we find these are helpful in driving traffic. If you do make a vid please provide it in .mp4 not .mov format. You can also post and make us collaborators just let us know when you do and we’ll accept asap.
PAYMENT
We pay electronically via zelle (preferred) within seven (7) days of the performance. In order to issue payment, we must have a current w9 which matches the zelle name receiving payment. In the event you cannot accept zelle we can do wire transfer or physical check (checks can be left at the club or we mail you a check but those can take up to 10 business days to arrive). If you have any ?’s about this please LMK and we can make sure the proper arrangements are made in advance so you’re not wondering why you’re not getting paid at the club the minute you walk off stage…
PARKING
We DO NOT have any parking at the venue. You can however usually find parking on Newport or the surrounding streets for normal vehicles and or tour vans (12 passenger or less). Please be mindful of the signs — most spots are 2hr before 6pm and free after 6pm. There is also the Union Bank parking lot which becomes “south beach parking” after 5pm (corner of niagara and cable). Absolute worst case scenario head up newport passed sunset cliffs blvd and there’s always plenty of parking by OB Elementary. If you have questions you can ask the manager or sound person on duty and they’ll point you in the right direction.
IF YOU HAVE A TOUR BUS: I’d recommend parking directly right across the street on Newport Ave in front of the big beach parking lot for load in only. Unless your going to have someone on the bus at all times to discourage parking enforcement from giving you a ticket it’s kind of a crap shoot over there but they are always cool for loading. Same thing if you have a LOT to load you can pull around the back alley and park briefly for load in the back alley but you will be blocking traffic and they will try to tow/ticket you if you are there for a long time. Once you are loaded there are several options for big tour bus parking – I’d recommend driving over to Dog Beach – which is walking distance from the club and there’s a huge lot and huge open street parking where you can leave a bus hassle free. Otherwise you can go across the bridge to Marina Village / Hospitality Point Park and there is plenty of parking over there as well.
POSTERS:
If you wanna make posters — we LOVE it when bands do that 🙂 Please send us the image so we can add to our site and socials. Also if you bring some physical ones to the club at 11×17 we can put in the nice frames in our restrooms. DO NOT try to tape them to our walls or they’ll be torn down. Same with our sister locations, you are welcome to bring posters to Bar 1502 and OB Noodle House, but please talk to managers before hanging over there (they like if you use tape looped on the back of the posters so they look nice). LMK if any ?’s

MARQUEE
I understand everyone wants to be on the marquee out front for weeks leading up to their show. The truth is I have little control over the marquee – we have a lot of shows and it depends on priority and how they’re selling and that’s a decision made by management. I can tell you that if management notices you’re posting and promoting the show heavily then they are more inclined to put your name up on the marquee for extra time.
GREEN ROOM ACCESS
Unless Jake specifically has given you access the green room is off limits. Green room is typically reserved only for headlining acts (not the openers), and it’s not open every night. If you have any ?s please ask in advance!
INTERNET cox 500mb downloads and 35mb upload ; we change the passwords regularly so please ask the sound tech on duty if you need access.
MERCH we have an extremely small SHARED area where we can accommodate merch. Please bring only your most popular items – limited selection
Headliner has one 3×6 table and use of the hanging rack
Openers and support must share one 3×6 table and work together
COMP TABS *A Note About COMP TABS: If your deal has a food comp as a part of it and you want to eat in green room it’s free and we’ll happily put it in to go boxes for you. If you want service in the restaurant we will still apply the comp to your bill but we would appreciate you tipping out our servers 20% as they are losing out on a table they would have normally had.

VIDEO RECORDING SERVICES:
Currently, we can live stream the performance to Twitch and YouTube as well as save the full 1080P stream recording. When just recording in-house we can achieve up to 4k in video quality. We currently have a 4-HD camera set up that captures multiple angles of the stage giving your band’s fans a dynamic new way to see the performance. We also offer pre-show consultations to discuss things like; Camera positioning, General run of performance and moments you want captured, Ways to make the digital recording as dynamic and visually impressive as possible, How to get the sickest guitar solo video clips ever and more.
We highly recommend adding in the audio package for a full scale performance video that you would also get a copy of.
Currently our video pricing looks like:
- $200 for HD Video recording
- $250 HD recording with pre-band performance consultation.
- $300 for HD stream and recording to single platform (youtube, twitch, etc)
- $325 for HD Stream to multiple platforms (youtube, twitch, etc)
