SMILE, JAMAICA: HURRICANE MELISSA RELIEF BENEFIT

Join the San Diego reggae community for Smile, Jamaica, an uplifting, all-day music festival and art auction dedicated to supporting Jamaica’s recovery and rebuilding efforts following the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa in late 2025. This powerful day of unity and positive vibrations takes place Sunday, December 14th, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Holding Company in Ocean Beach. All proceeds will go directly to aid organizations supporting communities severely impacted by the hurricane.

The festival features nine powerhouse acts from Southern California covering a diverse spectrum of reggae, rock, and soul. The lineup includes Doah’s Daydream, known for pioneering their high-energy “island grunge” fusion, and Pinnacle, who deliver authentic Roots Reggae and Dub with socially conscious lyrics. Soulplant brings passionate Roots Reggae championing healing and equality, while Indica Roots blends reggae, ska, and rock into a distinctive local sound. Cappo Kelley specializes in the smooth, soulful style of Lovers Rock Reggae. The musical journey continues with Psydecar, celebrated for their dynamic, improvisational grooves, and Jah Ollin, who plays spiritual Roots Reggae tuned to 432Hz. Adding a modern edge, Cruz Roots fuses traditional reggae with hip-hop and R&B, and I-Koustic delivers vital acoustic soul-reggae, rooted in his Jamaican and US heritage.

The event also hosts an Art for Action: Painting Auction featuring renowned local artist Krystal Dyer. A celebrated live painter for over 16 years and former animator for companies like Nickelodeon, Krystal recently opened her own vibrant gallery in Ocean Beach. Bid on her unique pieces, characterized by bright color and dynamic energy, with all funds directly supporting Jamaica’s future.
